Job summary

Michael Page is seeking a confident lawyer to work independently and advise on a wide range of commercial and compliance matters. The role involves drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts (MSAs, framework, supply chain, procurement, service, distribution, manufacturing, data processing) and supporting contracting policies and templates.

The successful lawyer will have a strong background in commercial law, IP rights awareness, data protection expertise, and outstanding drafting

Qualifications

  • Qualified solicitor with strong background in commercial law
  • Strong understanding of IP rights, especially in product development
  • Solid knowledge of data protection law and its commercial application
  • Excellent drafting and contract negotiation skills
  • Excellent analytical and detail-oriented mindset
  • Able to communicate legal concepts clearly to non-lawyers
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and risk management
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
  • Strong communication and collaboration within a team
  • Ability to anticipate potential scenarios beyond the brief

Responsibilities

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a range of commercial contracts (MSAs, framework agreements, supply chain, procurement, service, distribution, manufacturing, data processing)
  • Assisting with contracting policies, playbooks and templates
  • Drafting standard terms and conditions and advising internal departments
  • Providing clear legal guidance, highlighting risks and opportunities
  • Communicating contractual obligations to business teams to ensure compliance
  • Providing legal input on framework agreements and negotiations
  • Staying up-to-date with changes in law and regulations impacting the business

Job description

Our client is looking for a confident lawyer who can work independently and advise on a wide variety of commercial and compliance matters.

Description
  • Responsible for drafting, reviewing and negotiating a range of commercial contracts such as: MSAs, framework agreements, supply chain and procurement contracts, service agreements, distribution agreements, manufacturing agreements, data processing agreements.
  • Assisting with the implementation and management of contracting policies, playbooks and templates.
  • Drafting and reviewing standard terms and conditions and providing expert guidance on the same to internal departments across the Group.
  • Providing clarification on legal language or documents, communicating the relevant details, risks and opportunities in a clear and understandable format.
  • Communicating contractual obligations to the appropriate business team to facilitate compliance with ongoing requirements.
  • Providing legal input on utility company framework agreements and negotiating the same.
  • Conducting research on legal issues and developments, staying up to date with changes in law and regulations that may affect the Workdry Group.
  • Providing practical and commercially focused legal advice on a variety of legal issues.
Profile

A successful Legal Counsel should have:

  • A qualified solicitor
  • A strong background in commercial law.
  • A strong understanding of intellectual property rights, particularly in the context of product development.
  • A strong understanding of data protection law and the ability to apply their knowledge commercially in a business environment.
  • Excellent drafting and contract negotiation skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to communicate legal concepts clearly and effectively and couple expert legal knowledge with practical business acumen.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and risk management.
  • An ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • An ability to think beyond the brief and anticipate potential scenarios.
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills sometimes working under pressure or to tight deadlines.
Job Offer
  • Salary ranging from £50,000 to £70,000, dependent on the level of experience.
  • Bonus scheme.
