What you'll do:

As a Legal Cashier within this esteemed law firm's Finance team, you will be entrusted with managing the day-to-day financial operations that underpin the success of the business. Your role will involve handling complex banking tasks, processing various types of payments, and ensuring that all activities comply fully with SRA Accounts Rules. Success in this position means not only meeting deadlines but also fostering trust through your discreet handling of confidential matters while supporting the overall efficiency of the finance function.

* Carry out daily banking activities and reconcile both client and office accounts to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and compliant with regulatory requirements.

* Process receipts, payments, and transfers for client and office accounts efficiently, always maintaining precise records.

* Ensure strict adherence to Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Accounts Rules in all financial operations, safeguarding the firm's reputation for compliance.

* Handle disbursements, invoices, and expense claims promptly while maintaining clear communication with relevant stakeholders.

* Manage petty cash systems and process credit card statements with accuracy, ensuring all expenditures are properly documented.

* Assist with month-end and year-end financial processes by preparing reconciliations and supporting documentation as required by the Finance Manager.

* Liaise effectively with solicitors, fee earners, clients, and third-party suppliers to resolve queries and facilitate smooth financial transactions across departments.

* Reconcile client ledgers regularly to maintain accurate financial records and identify any discrepancies or anomalies swiftly.

* Support VAT reporting processes by ensuring correct VAT treatment on all transactions in line with current legislation.

* Contribute to audit preparations by compiling necessary documentation and providing general support to the wider finance function as needed.
