Housing compliance is vital for maintaining safe, habitable properties that meet tenant needs. The Compliance & Technical Services Access team manages access processes, primarily for the heating team, and handles compliance issues when access is refused or unobtainable by contractors or compliance teams.
The Legal Caseworker Team Leader, reporting to the Contract Manager, will oversee legal processes necessary to access properties for compliance, managing two Legal Caseworkers, ensuring caseloads meet deadlines, and legal paperwork accuracy.
This role includes attending court, serving legal documents, and ensuring contractors follow robust access procedures. It also involves managing complex cases like hoarding, subletting, or ASB across regions, supporting caseworkers, and escalating issues as needed.
The role requires interaction with various staff and residents, from private to social housing and ownership, and collaboration with external stakeholders such as social services and local authorities.
A key aspect is to minimize court proceedings by proactive management and to ensure legal actions are appropriate and proportionate, working closely with frontline staff.
