Legal & Business Support Assistant – 12-Month FTC (Potential to Go Permanent)
Location: City (Hybrid Working)
Salary: £40,000–£45,000 (DOE) Benefits
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm (with flexibility)

A financial services firm based in the City is seeking a highly capable and proactive Legal & Business Support Assistant to join the legal team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with the Managing Director of the Legal team, providing high-level business and administrative support in a varied and fast-paced environment. The role is hybrid, with three days in the office and two working from home each week, aligned with the MD’s in-office schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactive diary management and meeting scheduling
  • Attending meetings alongside the MD, taking minutes, preparing agendas, and distributing follow-ups
  • Coordinating travel arrangements through the Legal Team Assistant and ensuring smooth end-to-end logistics
  • Managing documentation workflows: distributing documents, collecting feedback, and compiling inputs
  • Drafting first versions of emails and other communications
  • Taking the lead on maintaining internal microsites and web content: reviewing, updating, and identifying necessary changes
  • Providing ad hoc support to the wider Legal team, including stepping in to assist the Legal Team Assistant when needed

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Strong academic background, able to demonstrate degree level or equivalent education
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and a natural multitasker
  • Proactive and confident in using initiative to anticipate needs and follow up independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SharePoint; experience with MS Dynamics is a plus
  • Collaborative, reliable, and thrives in a supportive team environment
