Job summary

A leading indie production company is seeking a Legal & Business Affairs Counsel for a 1-year FTC to cover maternity leave, possibly leading to a permanent position. This hybrid role suits either a qualified lawyer with 2-4 years PQE on a 4-day week basis or an experienced candidate on a 2-3 day week basis. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in rights distribution, licensing, and acquisition, contributing to a professional yet friendly environment.

Qualifications

2-4 years PQE preferred or more experienced candidates acceptable.
Relevant rights work experience in sales and licensing.
Not a production role; must handle rights distribution.

Responsibilities

Oversee rights distribution and licensing operations.
Manage legal aspects of acquisitions.

MEDIA LAWYER – RIGHTS DISTRIBUTION & ACQUISITION

We are working on a great new role with a brilliant indie, initially to cover a maternity leave but could possibly become a permanent option.

The role allows for flexible working and will suit either a lawyer with c. 2-4 year’ PQE on a 4-day week basis OR someone more experienced on a 2-3 day week basis.

The successful candidate will be either a qualified lawyer or Legal & Business Affairs professional and must have relevant experience of rights out work on the sales, distribution and licensing front and some rights in work on the acquisition side. Prior experience in rights distribution, licensing and/or acquisition is a must: please note this is not a production role.
