Job description

Are you passionate about using your skills to help people when they need it most? At Anthony Collins Solicitors, we're driven by a clear purpose - to improve lives, communities, and society. We are now looking for a Legal Assistant to join our Clinical Negligence & Personal Injury team, working in our niche Claims Against Public Authorities specialist group. This permanent role is Birmingham-based with hybrid working, offering the flexibility to combine time in the office with working from home. This is no ordinary legal support role. You'll be part of a team representing individuals who have experienced abuse, injury, or breaches of their Human Rights as a result of actions or decisions by public authorities, such as social services. Working alongside experienced lawyers and a Partner, you'll help deliver high-quality client service and make sure cases progress smoothly and effectively. What you'll be doing

  • Communicating with clients with empathy and professionalism, often in sensitive and emotionally challenging circumstances.
  • Drafting correspondence, reports, and legal documents under supervision.
  • Obtaining and reviewing medical, social care, and other records to support case preparation.
  • Attending client meetings and preparing materials for case discussions.
  • Supporting the efficient running of the team through file management, compliance, and administrative tasks.

Previous legal experience (personal injury or similar is an advantage).
  • Strong communication and listening skills, with the ability to work sensitively with clients.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with IT systems and legal databases.
  • A proactive, solution-focused mindset.
  • A legal qualification or knowledge is desirable but not essential.

Anthony Collins Solicitors is a specialist law firm with a clear purpose - to "improve lives, communities and society". For over 50 years we've been successfully combining market-leading legal expertise with a commitment to excellence and long-term relationships underpinned by a strong set of values.

  • Hybrid working.
  • 25 days holiday, 2 gift days at Christmas.
  • The opportunity to give back and have 3 days available for social purpose volunteering.
  • For Birmingham Colleagues, we have a newly refurbished office with an onsite café and free access to an on-site gym.
  • All IT equipment and support for effective home working
  • An excellent technical training programme and opportunities to grow sector expertise
