Legal Assistant - Family Law

Location: Hybrid (office based in Kent)

12-Month Fixed-Term Contract (with genuine scope for long-term career progression)

Legal Assistant opportunity has arisen at a prestigious and rapidly expanding law firm in Kent, now celebrating the launch of its 10th office in the Southeast. This role offers hybrid working and a chance to work alongside some of the region’s most respected legal professionals in family law.

Legal Assistant - hybrid working - Family Law experience (desirable)

We are currently seeking a Family Law Paralegal to support a senior consultant on a diverse range of family matters. This position is ideal for a self-motivated and proactive individual with a genuine passion for family law. While prior Legal Assistant/Paralegal experience in this area is desirable, we welcome applications from candidates who demonstrate a strong interest and commitment to building a career in this field.

  • As a Legal Assistant/Paralegal you will assistwith the preparation of legal documents, including court bundles, statements, and applications
  • Conducting legal research and drafting correspondence
  • Supporting the management of case files and diary schedules
  • Communicating professionally with clients, courts, and third parties
  • Attending client meetings and hearings when required
  • Providing administrative and practical support to a senior consultant

Skills & Qualifications: A law degree or equivalent legal qualification is essential

  • Previous experience or demonstrable interest in family law
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisational ability and attention to detail
  • Comfortable managing multiple tasks and working to deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and case management systems
  • A proactive, positive attitude and willingness to learn
