Job description

We are working with an outstanding international law firm that is looking to recruit a Funds Legal Assistant to join its highly regarded Investment Management team in London.

This is a particularly exciting opportunity for someone who has already gained experience within funds, corporate or transactional law and is looking to take the next step in their career. The firm has an excellent reputation for the quality of its work and its impressive international client base, and offers a fantastic environment in which to develop professionally.

The Investment Management team advises leading fund managers and institutional investors across private equity, venture capital, real estate, infrastructure and debt. The work is varied, often international and involves complex transactions, making this a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being involved in the detail of a matter and seeing it through from beginning to end.

Working closely with partners and associates, you will become an important part of the team, assisting with everything from fund formation and investment matters to secondary transactions and restructurings. This will include preparing and managing legal documentation, supporting due diligence exercises, coordinating signing and closing processes, and liaising with clients, investors and colleagues across different offices.

There is also a strong organisational element to the position, with responsibility for keeping transactions running smoothly, maintaining trackers and documentation, and ensuring that deadlines and deliverables are met. It is a role that offers genuine involvement in the work of the team, rather than simply providing administrative support.

The firm is keen to meet candidates who have already developed a good grounding in a legal environment, ideally within private funds, corporate, banking and finance or another transactional practice. You don't necessarily need to have worked directly in funds, but an understanding of transactional processes, legal documentation and the demands of working within a busy law firm would be particularly valuable.

Just as importantly, they are looking for someone who is organised, personable and proactive, with strong attention to detail and the confidence to take ownership of their work. Someone who enjoys being part of a team, is comfortable working with lawyers at different levels and is genuinely interested in developing their knowledge of investment management.

What makes this opportunity particularly attractive is the combination of high-quality work, excellent training and the chance to work alongside experienced lawyers. For someone looking to build on their existing experience and establish themselves within a respected private funds practice, there is a great deal on offer.

The position is permanent and full-time, with paid overtime available when required.

If you're currently working in a similar legal environment and beginning to think about your next move, we'd be delighted to hear from you.
