Legal Assistant - Company and Employment Litigation Fee Earner Residential Property Conveyancing Fee Earner Head of Employment Commercial Property Fee Earner (3 to 5 years PQE) Residential Property Case Handler

Hegarty, one of the regions leading law firms, are recruiting a full time Legal Assistant to support our busy Company and Employment department in Peterborough.

Legal Assistants at Hegarty LLP provide support to our fee earners and assist with proactively progressing matters.

Excellent communication and client care skills are essential, as is the desire to support with tasks to achieve team and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of first draft documents for review by Fee Earners.
  • Proof reading and correction of documents.
  • Research and reporting.
  • To deal with telephone enquiries on Department related matters and to provide routine advice where appropriate and to refer any other queries to the Fee Earners within the Department.
  • To deal with routine correspondence as delegated by a Fee Earner within the Department and to reply to incoming correspondence as appropriate.
  • To assist the Fee Earners within the Department with regard to the review of the Departmental files in order to ensure that progress is made on a timely basis and to chase up outstanding issues where appropriate.

Person Specification:

  • Law Degree essential.
  • Great attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Excellent use of Microsoft Office products.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and ensure that challenging deadlines are met.
  • Maintains a positive attitude, self-motivated and enthusiastic.
  • Take opportunities to develop and stretch yourself and be passionate about developing your career in the legal environment.
