Job description

We are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established and respected law firm with a strong presence across the Southwest. With a reputation for providing high-quality legal services and a friendly, collaborative culture, they are now looking for a Private Client Assistant to join their welcoming team in the Sherborne office.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous administrative or legal support experience who is keen to build a career in private client law. You’ll be supporting a team of experienced lawyers who specialise in Wills, Probate, Estate Administration, Powers of Attorney, and Trusts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing administrative and secretarial support to private client fee earners
  • Preparing and amending legal documents and correspondence
  • Liaising with clients, often dealing with sensitive and confidential matters
  • Managing diaries, booking appointments, and supporting with general office tasks
  • Opening, maintaining, and archiving client files in line with firm procedures
  • Assisting with billing and file management processes

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience in a legal or professional services environment
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Strong communication skills and a professional, empathetic manner
  • Confident with Microsoft Office and case management systems
  • A proactive and flexible approach to supporting colleagues and clients
