MDC Law is a full-service law firm located in the heart of Bedford, Nova Scotia. We are currently seeking a Legal Assistant / Paralegal to join our dedicated team.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting our legal team, with a primary focus on real estate law, estates, wills and corporate law. This position is ideal for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Draft, proofread, and compile legal documents, including wills, estate forms, corporate filings, deeds, agreements, and correspondence
• Handle all aspects of property transactions efficiently and accurately
• Liaise with clients to gather information, schedule meetings, and ensure effective communication
• Manage and track deadlines, closing dates, and file requirements
• Support a variety of legal areas including Real Estate, Corporate, Estates and Family Law
Requirements and Qualifications:
• Extensive experience in real estate law (sales, purchases, new home construction & refinances)
• Solid knowledge of Estates, Wills, and Corporate Law
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Experience using Unity Accounting, Property Online, Outlook and Microsoft 365 is considered an asset
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
• Ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
