LAW Absolute is seeking a Legal Adviser to cover maternity leave in a regulatory body. The role requires a qualified Solicitor or Barrister to deliver legal advice on information law and other related areas, supporting various projects. A hybrid working model offers flexibility across their UK offices.
An opportunity to join a regulatory body as a Legal Adviser on a temporary basis to cover a maternity leave. This role will be focused on information law. This is a regulatory body who are a non-ministerial government department accountable to Parliament, working across four sites in Liverpool, London, Newport and Taunton. The work is varied, challenging and unique.
As a Legal Adviser, you will be responsible for providing high quality professional legal advice on information law across the Commission. This will include providing information law advice to support the design and delivery of Commission-wide projects, as well as advising and developing the casework team responding to FOIA requests, SARs and ICO appeals.
To be considered for the role, you must be a Solicitor or Barrister qualified to practice in England and Wales and have knowledge of information law. Candidates should have worked in a similar public sector body and ideally have additional experience of charity law, public administrative law and regulatory law. As this is a temporary role candidates must be available to start work at short notice.
On offer is a hybrid working week with two days a week in the office, this can be based from any other their UK offices – London, Liverpool or Newport. The successful candidate will receive a day rate starting at £237.55 + £34.54 holiday pay (PAYE) or £322.42 per day (Umbrella). Candidates must be available to start at short notice.
