Overview

VANRATH are delighted to be assisting our client, a large and well-known Public Sector Organisation, with the recruitment of a Legal Advisor to join their team based in Belfast.

This is a Temporary position initially for a period of 6 months.

Salary

£55,000 - £61,000

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality legal advice, both orally and in writing, on significant and complex legal issues.
  • Interpret and apply legislation, statutory instruments, and other legal documents in advising clients and stakeholders.
  • Exercise sound legal judgement and analytical skills in resolving complex legal problems.
  • Communicate with clarity and confidence to clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
  • Manage a diverse caseload of litigation within the Northern Ireland court system.
  • Represent clients and the organisation at all stages of court proceedings.
  • Lead on case management, including strategy, preparation of legal submissions, and evidence gathering.
  • Provide legal management and representation at all stages of Judicial review proceedings, Coroner\'s inquests, Public inquiries, and Criminal proceedings.
Essential Criteria
  • Be a qualified solicitor or barrister licensed to practice in Northern Ireland, holding a current practising certificate (or be eligible to obtain one by the date of appointment).
  • Have at least 3 years\' post-qualification experience (PQE) of advising on significant, complex legal issues, including:
    • Interpreting legislation and legal documents.
    • Demonstrating legal analytical ability and sound judgement in resolving complex legal problems.
    • Communicating with clients with clarity and confidence.
  • Have at least 3 years\' PQE of managing litigation cases in the Northern Ireland court system, including practical experience of presenting cases at court.
  • Have at least 3 years\' PQE of legal management and representation at all stages in one or more of the following areas:
    • Judicial review proceedings
    • Coroner\'s inquests
    • Public inquiries
    • Criminal proceedings
