Job description

Service Care Legal are working in partnership with the Scottish Covid-19 Inquiry. We are currently recruiting Legal Advisor / Researchers to join the Inquiry's legal team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a statutory Public Inquiry of national significance, focused on the protection of human rights and delivery of public accountability.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive legal analysis across high volumes of documentary evidence
Identify and recover relevant evidence and potential witnesses
Read into materials to develop lines of inquiry
Take witness statements or direct statement takers
Assist in the drafting and implementation of Inquiry procedures and protocols
Support the management of Inquiry hearings and the final report process
Conduct redactions and disclosures in accordance with GDPR and Inquiry policies
Person Specification:
Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
Team-oriented, flexible, and adaptable to a fast-paced environment
A degree in Scots law is desirable, although applications from other jurisdictions are welcome
Salary Negotiable: starting from £57,701 - LTD Day rate £302.66, PAYE (inc hol):£257.02
Role: open for 1 week
Hybrid: working with a minimum of 2 days in office
Contract Length: 18 months
