Legal Administrator – Family Department – Nottingham Office

Bhatia Best Solicitors are a leading firm based in the East Midlands who specialise in Criminal Defence, Family Law, Personal Injury, Public Law and Community Care.

We have an opportunity for a Legal Administrator to join our busy Family and Children Law department at our Nottingham office.

This position would suit a candidate with good administrative and organisation skills.

Previous experience in a legal environment is preferred but not essential, as additional training will be offered.

Knowledge of the online legal aid billing systems (Client Cost and Management System) would be advantageous.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Processing Legal Aid applications and dealing with amendments

  • Creating and copying legal bundles
  • Online diary management, to include hearings, filing dates etc.
  • Ensuring hearings/ meetings are flagged for allocation
  • Drafting basic court documents and standard letters
  • Setting up client appointments
  • Processing invoices in accordance with office procedures
  • Liaising with clients, the courts, and other professionals both in person, by email, and by telephone
  • Assisting with billing/data entry
  • Opening and closing files in line with internal and external requirements in a timely manner.

This is an office-based position. The hours are Monday –Friday, 09:00 to 17:30 with one hour for lunch between 13:00 and 14:00.
