Job description

A well-regarded and welcoming law firm based in Stockton-on-Tees is seeking a confident and experienced Legal Administrator to join its Dispute Resolution team. This is a rare opportunity to become part of a firm known for its supportive culture, low staff turnover, and modern, open-plan offices. The successful candidate will work alongside a large and highly experienced team, offering valuable administrative and secretarial support to multiple fee earners in a fast-paced yet friendly environment.

This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are quite the same. The position will involve direct communication with clients, handling a range of typing tasks including audio dictation, and preparing detailed bundles and court documents. Responsibilities also include completing ID and anti-money laundering checks, managing client files on the firm’s practice management system (Proclaim), and assisting with the preparation of client bills and completion statements.

The firm is open to hearing from applicants seeking either full-time or part-time working patterns (a minimum of three days per week). They also offer an excellent flexible working scheme to help their staff achieve a healthy balance between their professional and personal lives. The team would be happy to discuss your ideal working arrangement to ensure the role fits your needs.

The ideal candidate will bring prior experience in a legal secretary position, along with strong IT and audio typing skills. A natural ability to prioritise tasks, manage a busy workload, and communicate confidently with clients is essential. You will also need to demonstrate a flexible, positive approach to working as part of a close-knit team, while being capable of working independently when required.

For the right person, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a firm where people genuinely enjoy coming to work and where career development is encouraged.
