Job summary

Howden Group Holdings is seeking a Legacy IBA Account Handler to manage historic balances and support run-off projects within the finance team. You will resolve aged balances, ensure regulatory compliance, and work with internal and external stakeholders to deliver positive financial outcomes.

The role requires experience in insurance finance environments, strong English communication, and the ability to manage priorities with attention to regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• GCSEs including English and Mathematics.
• AAT qualification or relevant finance qualification advantageous.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Strong numerical, analytical and financial problem‑solving capability.

Responsibilities

• Review and clear outstanding balances across client, insurer and third‑party ledgers.
• Scope, plan and prioritise accounting activities to support run‑off projects and aged debt resolutions.
• Investigate complex accounting issues and identify compliant solutions.
• Negotiate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve positive commercial and financial outcomes.
• Ensure historic accounting activity complies with client money regulations and FCA requirements.
• Monitor and manage credit write‑back activity in line with approval processes and regulatory standards.
• Maintain accurate project records and ensure audit requirements are met.
• Produce timely management information and project updates for reporting purposes.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to support future run‑off activity.
• Deliver work to agreed deadlines, supporting KPI reporting and project completion targets.
