Job Description:

We are seeking 2 dynamic and experienced Work Based Learning and Employability Lecturers to join our Progression to Learning and Work team.

The successful candidates will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences to students, focusing on work-based learning and employability skills, developing positive behaviours and attitudes in learners.

This role involves developing and delivering curriculum in college and in the community, assessing student progress, and collaborating with industry partners to ensure students have the confidence and ability to develop life skills and progress into employment.

Some students will have EHCPs, SEND, and SEMH, therefore, the design and delivery of inclusive and effective teaching and learning activities is of utmost importance.

Interviews are planned to take place W/C 7th July 2025

Responsibilities include:

  • To design and deliver a wide range of effective and inclusive teaching and learning activities for students with EHCPs, SEND and SEMH.
  • To promote industry collaboration and build/maintain strong relationships with industry partners to facilitate work placements, internships, and other work-based learning opportunities for students.
  • To assess the work and progress of all students and provide them with constructive and timely feedback.
  • To seek ways of improving student performance by reflecting on teaching design and delivery and obtaining and analysing feedback.
  • To develop and apply innovative approaches to improving the learning environment, teaching and/or assessment and feedback methods.
  • Engage in professional development relating to teaching, learning and assessment, including the use of an evidence-informed approach, which utilises the outcomes of scholarship to enhance teaching practice.
  • Contribute to course development and the development of new programmes of study demonstrating an inclusive and collaborative approach to delivery.
  • Contribute to outreach and/or widening participation activity within the Department/ School.
  • Produce Plans of learning, lesson plans, assessment plans, varied learning materials and any other related activities that positively impact the effectiveness of learning.
  • To be responsible for the supervision and leadership of an outstanding student experience on campus, including monitoring attendance, progress and retention.
  • To act as an academic and pastoral tutor as specified by the Head of School/Department.
  • Responsible for agreed levels of progression (Entry to Level 1).
