Hours: 37 hours per week
Salary: £28,385 - £41,782 per annum (pro-rata if part-time)
Pension: Teachers’ Pension Scheme
Annual Leave: 42 days per annum

Job Brief

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Lecturer in Technical Construction to join our Construction Department. This role involves delivering high-quality teaching and learning across a range of programmes in the Built Environment. You will provide inspirational teaching, support students of diverse ages and abilities, and contribute to course design and development.

The successful candidate will undertake tutorial duties, support recruitment activities, and collaborate with colleagues to enhance the curriculum. This role requires flexibility to teach evenings, Saturdays, and summer periods as needed.

As part of your duties, you will maintain up-to-date teaching materials, perform assessments, and develop industrial links. A commitment to safeguarding, equality, and health and safety is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality teaching across Built Environment programmes, including occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Develop and maintain teaching materials, schemes of work, and assessments while ensuring compliance with awarding body standards.
  • Support students as a course tutor by tracking progress and providing feedback.
  • Assist with work placements, student recruitment, and curriculum development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate maths and English into courses and maintain professional industry links.
  • Comply with health and safety, safeguarding, equality, and data protection policies.
  • Undertake other duties as required by the Head of Department.
Requirements
  • A Level 5 qualification or degree in Construction and the Built Environment, along with relevant recent industrial experience.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and IT skills are essential, as is the ability to motivate learners of all ages.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel between college sites is required.
  • A commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity, and health and safety is mandatory.
