GSL Education seeks a dynamic and dedicated Lecturer in Sport to join a thriving and progressive department in Gateshead. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver outstanding teaching and support across a range of sport-related qualifications, helping students reach their full potential in both academic and practical performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver high-quality lessons across various sport-related topics (e.g., anatomy, physiology, coaching, fitness training, nutrition).
• Support students in both theory and practical sessions at levels appropriate to the curriculum (e.g., Level 2, Level 3, HND, or degree level).
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing clear feedback and guidance.
• Contribute to the design and development of the sport curriculum.
• Support enrichment and extracurricular sporting activities where appropriate.
• Ensure all teaching and assessment complies with awarding body standards.
• Engage in staff development and stay updated with industry trends and pedagogical practices.

Job Requirements:

• A degree in sport science, physical education, or a related subject.
• A recognised teaching qualification e.g., QTS or willingness to work towards one.
• Previous experience teaching sport in an FE or HER environment is desirable.
• Up-to-date knowledge of the sport and fitness industry.
• Excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills.
• A commitment to student development, engagement, and safeguarding.
• A current Enhanced DBS registered with the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
