Job description

Harper Adams University, recently named the first ever Specialist University of the Year in the Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2024 and the top Modern University in the Daily Mail University Guide, is seeking to recruit highly motivated lecturing staff in engineering.

The role will be primarily based at Harper Adams' new hub in Telford, Shropshire.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team of skilled engineers to:

  1. Develop teaching in Mechatronic Engineering for undergraduate, postgraduate, and international students;
  2. Build and strengthen relationships with industrial partners;
  3. Pursue research aligned with our research centres, especially the Agri-Tech Research Centre.

The position of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer involves engaging with students' academic, personal, and professional development through innovative teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The role also includes developing relationships with employers and commercial partners. The university supports staff development, and the appointee will be encouraged to gain further experience or qualifications.

This is a demanding lecturing role that may require working outside normal hours and travelling within the UK and overseas.

If not already a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, the appointee will be expected to become one within three years, with the university providing necessary training and funding for the accreditation fee.
