As a Lecturer in Computer Science or Software Engineering, you will develop and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. You will also have opportunities to establish research collaborations with colleagues at Hubei University and continue your own research with Manchester Metropolitan colleagues. Promoting the department and engaging in knowledge transfer, business engagement, and potential collaborations will also be part of your role.
You should hold a first degree and PhD in a relevant discipline or equivalent qualifications. Ideally, you will have at least two years of university teaching experience, preferably in the UK, with support available to obtain a teaching qualification if needed. Membership of relevant professional bodies is desirable.
Deep understanding of current developments in Computer Science or Software Engineering, including software architectures and modern development technologies, is essential. You should be committed to delivering stimulating and current content, and be capable of using initiative and creativity in research activities.
This is a fixed-term position starting as soon as possible, based in Manchester with two overseas assignments per year at Hubei University, China. You will spend six weeks in Wuhan during each assignment, typically starting in September and February.
