Job description

Their Social Science department are looking for a Lecturer & Programme Lead in A-Level, this is a new and exciting role for a growing college!

They are seeking a passionate and experienced candidate to join and lead their dedicated team in shaping the future of their students and make a lasting impact with their organisation!

The Role:

The role of Programme Lead is to assist the Centre Principal with the operational day to day running of the area. The post holder will be expected to teach an appropriate caseload (0.5) within the designated curriculum area of A Level (Social Sciences/Business).

The role of the Programme Lead is to be an ambassador for the college and to take the strategic lead for your designated curriculum area. As an integral member of the college's wider team, you will be responsible for the operational management of your curriculum areas, the line-management of staff, and will teach an appropriate caseload within the curriculum area.

This post may require some evening and weekend working to support their events including interview evenings and parents evenings.

Successful applicants will have previous experience in a similar role, ideally within an FE environment.

Main Duties for this role include:

  • Plan teaching, learning and assessment for college programmes using the appropriate format to ensure effective learning.
  • Deliver teaching and learning to an Outstanding standard to ensure learners achieve high success rates.
  • Assess accurately learners' work both formatively and summatively against appropriate awarding body criteria to ensure learners achieve their qualifications.
  • Comply with all quality assurance procedures as prescribed by the Deputy Principal to ensure the achievement of all internal and external audits.
  • Use all appropriate resources effectively to ensure that the learners' experience results in positive learning outcomes and high professional standards.
  • Work with MIS to constantly monitor, amend and maintain correct information on Pro-solution. Ensure that learner assessments are evenly spread across the academic year and that staff within your department are regularly and accurately marking learner work and providing feedback.
