About the role

The Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering department is a strategic priority and a key growth area within the college and local community. Our delivery includes study programmes, adult and commercial courses, and Higher Education at our Sunderland City Campus.

We seek an enthusiastic, innovative individual to engage and inspire future engineers, supporting positive student experiences, progress, and destinations. This role offers the opportunity to lead in delivering high-quality advanced manufacturing engineering education aligned with industry standards.

About you

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Industry Skills: Strong experience in milling, turning, and hand-fitting.
  • Engineering Qualification: Recognized engineering qualification, focusing on mechanical disciplines.
  • Teaching Potential: Enthusiasm and ability to teach, with a preference for delivering Mathematics and Engineering Science up to level 5 (desirable).
  • Graduate Candidates: Recent engineering graduates with relevant skills and potential are encouraged to apply.
  • Teaching Experience (Optional): Experienced teachers are welcome to apply.
  • Industry Professionals: Industry professionals seeking to transition into teaching will be supported in obtaining a teaching qualification.
  • Passion: A strong desire to teach and inspire future engineers.
  • Development Commitment: Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with engineering practices and teaching methods.
