Initial teacher training (ITT) at Plymouth Marjon University has a considerable history, stretching back over 180 years. Essential
We would welcome applications from candidates who wish to make a substantive contribution to primary PGCE programmes with the following experience and credentials:
Holds UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Holds a Masters degree or has equivalent professional experience
Has recent school experience teaching the national curriculum (England)
Has a specialism in primary professional studies and one or more of the following subjects: geography, science or maths
Has a track record of keeping up to date with evidence informed practice
Has experience supporting trainee teachers and/or early career teachers
Desirable
Has experience of contributing to the delivery of ITT primary QTS provision
Has experience of ITT curriculum and programme design
Has a doctorate or is enrolled currently in a doctoral degree programme

Main Responsibilities
Preparing trainee teachers: drawing on your knowledge and teaching expertise to ensure trainees are evidence informed and school-ready.
Teaching: designing and delivering innovative teaching sessions, fostering an inclusive environment for all and marking assignments.
Quality Assurance of placement experiences: visiting trainees on placement, supporting school mentors and tracking trainee progress.
Recruitment: interviewing and selecting appropriate trainees for the PGCE course and supporting recruitment events.
Pastoral support continuing our unprecedented success in student satisfaction by providing pastoral and academic support to our trainees.
