Job summary

Wirral Metropolitan College in Birkenhead seeks a Lecturer to join our Prep for Life team. This full-time, permanent role is 35 hours per week and offers a salary of £31,410 to £43,440 per annum.

You will teach formally, act as personal tutor, and contribute to resource design and program monitoring, with a focus on learners with learning difficulties and disabilities.

Qualifications

  • Full Teaching qualification (Certificate of Education, PGCE or equivalent) or currently studying towards.
  • Minimum Level 2 English/literacy qualification (National Certificates, Key Skills, GCSEs A-C or equivalent).
  • Minimum Level 2 maths/numeracy qualification (National Certificates, Key Skills, GCSEs A-C or equivalent.
  • Able to evidence successful experience of teaching groups of learners with Learning Difficulties and/or Disabilities (LDD) (which demonstrates knowledge and practice of effective and inclusive group teaching and learning strategies).
  • Have knowledge of Entry Level curricula / qualifications.
  • Be able to demonstrate the ability to plan, deliver and evaluate high quality, motivational and inclusive learning experiences for learners with LDD.

Responsibilities

  • To co-ordinate and monitor data across a team, as required, for Course Team Reviews and other purposes and lead a team in the monitoring, reviewing and evaluation of all aspects of the programme(s).
  • To advise the Head of Departmenton the development of Preparation for Life provision.
  • To contribute to the provision of appropriate, high quality activities / course information to effectively promote Preparation for Life.
