Role Overview

Sefton Sixth Form College, part of Hugh Baird College, is seeking a passionate Lecturer of Applied Diploma in Criminology & A Level Sociology. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment to ensure successful learner outcomes and support student progression.

Key Responsibilities

1. Teach Applied Diploma in Criminology & A-level Sociology at Sefton Sixth Form College.
2. Implement feedback and assessment systems to monitor and promote learner progress.
3. Deliver lessons aligned with our TLA Principles.
4. Contribute to curriculum development and innovation.
5. Maintain a professional learning environment, adhering to our ABC expectations.
6. Update teaching expertise to continually improve practice.
7. Participate in enhancement programs.

Candidate Criteria

• Degree in Criminology, Sociology, or related field.
• PGCE/Certificate of Education or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Maths and English at Level 4–9 (GCSE A–C) or equivalent.
• Successful teaching experience in a Sixth Form setting, preferably in Criminology or Sociology.
• Knowledge of course content, examination, and assessment requirements.
• Understanding of value-added measures and progress performance.
• Experience in developing external partnerships.
