THE POST

An opportunity has arisen for two AC3 lecturers to join our Adult Nursing, Community and Health within the School of Health and Life Sciences, where teaching and research are at the heart of all the schools activities.

We are specifically looking to recruit a Registered Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (Occupational Health Nurse) to join our team. Ideally, the successful candidate will be a registered Adult Nurse who is educationally qualified to Masters level.

You will join a dedicated team who strive to continuously inspire our students and wider University community and, through modern teaching and impactful research, continue to deliver innovative solutions to some of the worlds biggest challenges.

The post requires an enthusiastic, skilled and motivated person with clinical credibility to contribute to the currency and clinical relevance of our adult nursing, mental health and social care programmes, and to deliver and develop our post graduate portfolio. The post holder will be aligned to our MSc Specialist Community and Public Health programmes and will support other portfolio activities.. The ability to contribute to and lead module and programme development is integral to this post, along with engagement in wider academic activities such as consultancy, CPD, and scholarship to enhance teaching or academic knowledge.

The successful candidate should have the following:

  • Masters Degree and/or professional experience as an Occupational Health Nurse
  • NMC registration - Registered Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (Occupational Health)
  • A sufficient breadth or depth of specialist knowledge and experience in the discipline to work within established research/teaching programmes.
  • Familiarity with a variety of theories to promote and assess learning.
  • Understanding of equality and diversity issues as they may impact on academic content and issues relating to student need.
  • Commitment to delivering high quality teaching and supporting an outstanding student experience.
  • Excellent collaborative and interpersonal skills.
