Location: Central Bedfordshire College – Luton Road Campus

Salary/Benefits: Salary from £31,930 per annum (Pro-Rata) DOE and Qualifications, Teacher’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week

Contract Type: Permanent – Full Time

About the role:

We are currently seeking Lecturer to join our Motor Vehicle department at The Bedford College Group .

As a Lecturer, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

  • Learning Opportunities - Deliver effective, up-to-date, and stimulating learning opportunities, leading to student success and progression.
  • Key Responsibilities - Facilitate practical life skills sessions; collaborate with educators and community organizations; assess and provide feedback; stay updated with trends in life skills education.
  • Preparation & Planning - Plan learning programmes; design lessons and activities; prepare learning resources; plan work experience.
  • Classroom Management - Manage learner behaviour; ensure a safe learning environment; manage learning resources.
  • Teaching & Assessment - Monitor attendance; set lesson objectives; engage learners; provide feedback; assess learning; keep accurate records; liaise with internal and external bodies.

About you:

  • Qualifications - Teaching qualification equivalent to Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (or willingness to work towards); Level 2 qualification in Maths and English.
  • Industry Skills - Up-to-date vocational skills; experience in relevant industry; ability to teach across vocational areas and levels.
  • Communication & Presentation - Clear presentation skills; good personal, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Quality Assurance - Champion Quality Assurance procedures; confidence in a target-driven environment.
  • Teaching & Learning - Experience supporting students at various levels; ability to teach using diverse approaches; knowledge of latest technology and Quality Assurance systems; problem-solving skills; ability to motivate and inspire; deliver courses using various learning modes; application of health and safety knowledge.
  • Personal Qualities - Team player; motivated by learner success; commitment to professional development; reflective practitioner; good organisational and time management skills; flexible approach.
  • Additional Requirements - Subject to an enhanced DBS check.
