About the Role
This role is a dynamic opportunity to lead and deliver high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment while managing and continuously improving a programme area. The position involves full responsibility for course planning, , curriculum development, and quality assurance. In addition to teaching, the post-holder will provide strong pastoral support, oversee student progress, and ensure compliance with internal and external standards. The role demands a proactive, student-focused individual who can foster academic excellence, support learner success, and contribute to the strategic development of the curriculum and wider college community.

About You

You will hold a Level 3 qualification in Maths or possess demonstrably extensive knowledge of Functional Skills or GCSE Mathematics. Ideally, you will have a degree in Mathematics or a related subject with significant mathematical content. A recognised teaching qualification such as a PGCE or DET is desirable, or you should be willing to achieve one within a specified timeframe. You will have at least GCSE grade B (or equivalent) in Maths and grade C in English. With proven experience teaching GCSE or Functional Skills Maths in a further education, higher education, or secondary school setting, you will have a strong track record of delivering high-quality teaching and achieving positive learner outcomes. You will be results-driven, with a history of meeting or exceeding performance targets and supporting students to make meaningful progress.
