Job Description:

Southampton Solent University’s Warsash Maritime School is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Marine Engineering to contribute to the delivery of our specialist Marine Engineering and Electro-Technical Officer seafarer programmes, with a focus on Management level UK MCA Engineering Knowledge preparation courses and other Marine Engineering courses. The successful candidate will participate in the school's research activities and contribute to enhancing the student experience.

Warsash Maritime School has a global reputation for practice-led education in maritime industry leadership. The Marine Engineering team is known for training cadets and officers supporting careers at sea and ashore.

The candidate must hold a management level certificate of competence from a UK Flag State Endorsement recognized country and an undergraduate and/or postgraduate degree in relevant fields such as Shipping, Marine Engineering, or Maritime Business. Flexibility to teach a wide range of topics is essential.

Starting salary depends on qualifications and experience within specified bands. This role includes a 10% WMA allowance, 35 days annual leave plus public holidays and university closure periods. Development opportunities include upskilling to PhD level and postgraduate teaching qualifications.
