Job description

Southampton Solent University’s Warsash Maritime School is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Marine Engineering to contribute to the delivery of our specialist Marine Engineering and Electro-Technical Officer seafarer programmes. The focus will be on delivering our Management level UK MCA Engineering Knowledge preparation courses and other Marine Engineering courses.

The successful candidate will participate in the school's commercial and research activities and contribute to enhancing the student experience.

Candidate Requirements
  1. Management level certificate of competence from a UK Flag State Endorsement recognized country.
  2. Undergraduate and/or postgraduate degree in a relevant field (e.g., Shipping and Maritime Operations, Marine Engineering, Maritime Business).
  3. Flexibility to teach a wide range of topics within the school.
Employment Details

Starting salary depends on qualifications and experience within the stated band. The role includes a WMA allowance of 10% and benefits such as 35 days holiday plus public holidays and scheduled university closures.
