Job summary

University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI) seeks a Lecturer in Sound and Audio Engineering to deliver live audio education within the BSc Audio Engineering programme. The role combines teaching across SCQF Levels 5–10 with hands-on involvement in live events and studio facilities.

You will hold an undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification and apply professional practice to a range of venues, studios and theatres, contributing to student success and NSS outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience in live sound reinforcement for events and productions.
• Ability to apply acoustics concepts to real environments and venues.
• Strong communication and collaboration with students and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Teach across audio provision from SCQF Levels 5–10 with emphasis on Live Audio.
• Bring current professional practice into classroom and live events.
• Maintain health and safety standards and equipment readiness.
• Collaborate with staff on productions and external events.
