Job summary

West Suffolk College in Bury St Edmunds is seeking a passionate teacher to deliver engaging sport programmes across levels 1 to 6. You will inspire learners to gain knowledge, skills and confidence for employment or further training and support their progression through industry-aligned teaching and learner support.

The role involves working with curriculum staff and external partners to deliver practical learning experiences, embedding industry insights, trips and work experience opportunities

• West Suffolk College, Bury St Edmunds
• 0.6 FTE - 21 hours per week, 52 weeks per year – Maternity Cover
• Commencing February 2027
• Salary: £29,583 - £41,964 per annum (Dependent on qualifications and experience)
• Actual Salary: £17,749 - £25,178 per annum

Through industry-focused teaching and strong learner support, you will create an inclusive and motivating environment where students can thrive.

Working collaboratively with curriculum staff and external partners, you will help deliver a relevant and practical learning experience, embedding industry insights, projects, trips and work experience opportunities into the curriculum. As part of a supportive and ambitious team, you will contribute your expertise and ideas while maintaining high standards of teaching, learning and assessment, helping drive learner success and continuous departmental improvement.
