GBS is a higher education provider, working in partnership with several of the UK's leading higher education providers to offer a range of sector-relevant courses across ten campuses in London, Birmingham, Leeds, and Manchester. In partnership with BSU, we offer a wide range of modern courses across business, construction, computing, project management, psychology, and counselling. BSU students graduate as engaged global citizens ready for the workforce. 96.1% of graduates find employment or further study within six months.

GBS is expanding its portfolio to include undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in psychology and counselling, working towards accreditation with professional bodies such as the British Psychological Society (BPS) and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). With over 35,000 students, GBS continues to grow, aiming to transform lives through education.

Please note:
  • This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
  • Start date will be no earlier than August 2025.
Responsibilities:
  • Design, plan, and deliver teaching sessions as required by the Faculty.
  • Design assessments and evaluate student work, ensuring learning outcomes are met.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to students.
  • Offer academic support and guidance to students.
  • Develop, update, and improve course materials.
  • Stay updated with best practices in learning and teaching, integrating technologies to enhance learning.
  • Contribute to the design, development, delivery, review, and enhancement of programmes within the Faculty and GBS.
  • Attend role-related meetings.
  • Build productive relationships with colleagues inside and outside GBS.
  • Participate in events like programme reviews, open days, outreach activities, and partner visits.
  • Engage in staff development activities including teaching observations and workshops.
  • Support the creation and dissemination of new knowledge in your field and higher education practice.
  • Engage with the GBS performance management programme, aiming to meet objectives related to student attendance, progression, and satisfaction.
  • Act as a Module Leader or undertake other administrative duties as assigned by the Dean or Deputy Dean.
Additional notes:
  • We operate a fully on-site working model.
  • We seek full-time, permanent, hourly-paid Lecturers.
About you:
  • Postgraduate qualification in Psychology or relevant research experience.
  • Experience teaching in UK higher education.
  • Passion for education as a transformative activity.
  • Experience supervising student work and providing support.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience supporting face-to-face learning.
  • Professional conduct in all interactions.
  • Proficiency in IT and Microsoft Office tools.
Nice to have:
  • Doctoral qualification in Psychology or relevant scholarly activity.
  • Industry experience in Psychology.
  • Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCHE, MA in HE Practice, FHEA).
