Job summary

Wiltshire College & University Centre invites an experienced Plumbing & Heating professional to join the Chippenham Campus as a Lecturer. You will teach and assess learners across Plumbing & Heating programmes, including apprenticeships, delivering practical sessions in workshop and classroom settings to develop industry-ready skills.

We offer a permanent, full-time role with a generous salary up to £40,814 plus a £5,500 Specialist Skills Shortage Bonus.

Qualifications

  • A Level 3 NVQ in Plumbing.
  • Gas competency.
  • An IQA & Assessors Award or willingness to work towards one.
  • Industry experience within Plumbing & Heating Engineering.
  • Strong practical skills and up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
  • Experience supporting or mentoring others, either in the workplace or education.
  • A teaching qualification is welcomed, and we’ll support you to achieve it while you work.

Responsibilities

  • Teach and assess learners across Plumbing & Heating programmes, including full-time courses and apprenticeships.
  • Deliver engaging, practical sessions in workshop and classroom environments.
  • Support learners in developing industry-standard skills, knowledge, and safe working practices.
  • Embed current industry practices, regulations, and sustainability principles into teaching.
  • Maintain high standards of health & safety, safeguarding, and professionalism.
  • Track learner progress and provide constructive feedback to support achievement.

Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
