Job description

Starting salary from £48,822 per annum, dependent on skills and experience, with an annual increment up to £56,535 per annum. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lecturer in Pharmacy Practice to join the School of Chemistry, Pharmacy, and Pharmacology to deliver lectures and seminars and carry out teaching-related duties.

You will contribute to the design, delivery, assessment and continuous enhancement of the Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) programme and, where appropriate, other pharmacy and healthcare education provision. A particular focus of the role will be experiential learning and placements. Working as part of the academic and professional services placements team, you will help create high-quality, inclusive and well-supported learning experiences in practice. This will include preparing students, developing and maintaining relationships with placement providers and supervisors, supporting delivery, and contributing to the monitoring, evaluation and quality assurance of placements.

The role has a teaching and scholarship focus. You will be supported to develop your academic practice and educational scholarship, including completion of a postgraduate certificate in higher education and professional recognition through Advance HE where required.

A professional qualification that supports current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a pharmacist or pharmacy technician is essential. This full-time post is available from 2 November 2026 on an indefinite basis.
