Overview

Lecturer in Mathematics, University of Exeter. The above full time, permanent post is available from 1 January 2020.

Role summary

You will contribute to extending the research profile of Mathematics at Exeter, particularly in areas related or complementary to Geophysical and Astrophysical Fluid Dynamics and Atmosphere-Ocean Dynamics. You will have knowledge and experience in the theory and/or numerical modelling of the large scale circulation of Earth and other planets, and will be able to advance and communicate knowledge in those fields.

The post will involve conducting state-of-the-art research in the circulation of planetary atmospheres and/or oceans, with particular but not exclusive reference to Earth. The post will require working in a multidisciplinary research environment, active development of research funding proposals, teaching at the undergraduate level and supervision of postgraduate students. The successful candidate will contribute to the growth and excellence of the Centre for Geophysical and Astrophysical Fluid Dynamics.
