The Role

We seek to appoint two outstanding Lecturers in Marketing (Teaching and Scholarship) into our Marketing Subject Group. We are seeking passionate scholars in the marketing field. Your passion will come across in your teaching and support for the student experience at all levels as well as in your commitment to engaging with communities beyond the University. You will contribute to teaching and assessment across a range of UG and PG modules in the broad marketing field, as well as undertaking dissertation supervision. For this T&S role, you must have a PhD in a relevant subject (or a PhD near completion – i.e. strictly within three months of submission), and a strong scholarly profile or trajectory. You must also be able to demonstrate teaching and scholarship excellence in Marketing.

You will join our newly-formed, dynamic and vibrant Marketing Subject Group of nearly 30 faculty colleagues, including seven renowned professors, and within a Business School that is committed to collegiality and academic citizenship. The posts are open to colleagues with different marketing specialisms, but we are particularly interested in new faculty with foci in Marketing Analytics and Digital Marketing.   • Mentor and support students throughout their studies in the role of personal tutor
  • Set and mark assessment of modules in accordance with University standards and utilise on-line and digitised curricula and education frameworks

  • Ensure all our students benefit from studying in a research intensive, research excellent academic environment
  • Provide education for life, that engages, challenges and supports our students to discover and fulfil their potential both while they are studying with us and once they have graduated
  • Contribute to the scholarly and practice profile of the Business School by engaging in scholarly research and activities, engagement, practice, CPD and external funding
  • Demonstrate impact by developing practice-based solutions to real-world problems, produce scholarly outputs and engage with external stakeholders to develop the impact of your work

  • Contribute to the Business School Vision, Mission and Strategy
  • Operate as an active citizen in the Business School community
  • To have an awareness of equality, diversity and inclusion and ethics, responsibility and sustainability

  • Undertake a range of administrative tasks to support your area of teaching, and/or scholarship, and/or engagement for example, recruitment or team leadership

  • Contribute to the Business School’s international, programme and professional body accreditations

In addition to providing evidence of your previous experience of the criteria above, to be considered for a Grade G Lectureship you must also meet the follow criteria:

  • Substantial experience of designing and delivering high quality teaching and learning material, resources and activities for students in academia
  • A track record of engaging with external stakeholders, generating real-world impact from research
  • Evidence of your contribution to the Marketing Subject Group or discipline
  • Ability to undertake a management and leadership role
  • Evidence of active academic citizenship

Qualifications

  • PhD (or equivalent) at or near completion (strictly within three months of submission at time of application) in a relevant subject.
  • HE teaching qualification (or equivalent experience) (Desirable)

  • Completed PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant subject
