The Role:

Blackpool and The Fylde College (B&FC) is excited to welcome an experienced and passionate Lecturer in Marine Engineering to join our team at Fleetwood Nautical College. This is an exceptional opportunity to shape the next generation of maritime professionals and contribute to a forward-thinking academic community. Your Responsibilities Will Include:

As a Lecturer in Marine Engineering, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality learning experiences to students across apprenticeships, Further Education (FE), Higher Education (HE), and commercial courses. Key responsibilities include:
  • Delivering engaging, practical, and theoretical training in Marine Engineering.
  • Designing and delivering inclusive teaching, learning, and assessment strategies.
  • Supporting student progress through effective monitoring, feedback, and digital platforms (e.g., e-portfolios, Canvas).
  • Assisting with student recruitment activities such as Open Days and outreach events.
  • Maintaining a commitment to health and safety practices, ensuring a safe learning environment.
  • Engaging in research, scholarship, and professional practice to enhance learning.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in Naval Architecture and Ship Stability at Levels 4 and 5. This includes delivering lectures, leading practical sessions, and providing guidance to students in these specialised subjects. Additionally, they will be involved in course development, assessment, and supporting students' academic growth throughout their studies. About the Maritime Team:
