Overview

Lecturer in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, Refrigeration (HVACR) (on-site) at Suffolk New College, Ipswich. This is a fixed term, hourly paid teaching role within the General Education sector.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver and assess HVACR-related teaching within the Netzero Skills Centre as part of the College’s growing Green Skills provision.
  • Share industry knowledge and expertise to help train technicians and engineers who can survey, plan, cost, fit, commission, maintain and service systems that control climates in residential and commercial premises.
  • Support learners and collaborate with colleagues; the College actively encourages those from non-teaching backgrounds to develop teaching skills with available support schemes.
  • Be prepared to work across Suffolk New College campuses as required.
Qualifications and requirements
  • Experience in the HVACR industry or related field; ability to convey practical knowledge to students.
  • Willingness to enter teaching roles; non-teaching backgrounds are welcome with College development support.
  • A commitment to safeguarding, equality and diversity; DBS check required for appointment.
  • Interview date: Monday 20 October 2025.
