Job description

We are currently seeking Full time Lecturers to teach on our HND Healthcare and Social Practice programme. This role requires flexibility to teach Monday to Friday, daytime only.

This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship


Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to)

  • All aspects of planning, delivering, and assessing student work, ensuring that all learning outcomes are met
  • Internal verification of course work and compliance with standardisation processes ensuring course specification meets the awarding body requirements
  • Develop, update, and improve course materials as appropriate
  • Develop, update, and improve Scheme of work, actively monitor, and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching resources
  • Use a variety of learning and teaching methods/materials including live online learning
  • Use a variety of learning and teaching methods including interactive resources
  • Attend meetings as required, to contribute to the decision-making process and to develop productive working relationships within the various teams you will be engaged with
  • Attend BTEC trainings, Staff meetings, CPD events as required etc
  • To actively be involved in staff development activities and peer observations
  • To work in partnership with module leaders, Cohort leaders, academic and non-academic staff to ensure students are provided with high quality support
  • To ensure formative and summative feedback to students are constructive and developmental
  • Understand and keep up to date with student support to ensure our students have the full support and guidance they need
  • Understand the challenges and support required for matured students from a diverse background
  • To provide students with high quality teaching experience in the classroom through discussions, group work and individua activities
  • To participate in the GBS performance management programme, meeting a range of clearly defined objectives for student outcomes, student satisfaction, retention, and attendance
  • Undertake administrative duties as agreed with your line manager
  • Take on other responsibilities as required to support the work of GBS

Essential:

  • Master's degree and/or a PhD in the relevant area
  • BTEC Assessment experience
  • Previous lecturing experience for similar courses
  • Experience of BTEC internal verification procedures
  • Experience of working on a vocational programme in a Higher Education setting

Desirable:

  • Teaching qualifications: PGCHE, MA in HE Practice or FHEA etc
  • Experience working in the industry of your subject
