A leading educational organization in Wales seeks a part-time lecturer to teach Health and Social Care and Child Care qualifications. This role offers an exciting chance to impact students' learning through engaging teaching practices. Flexibility in hours and pro-rata benefits are included, making it ideal for those beginning their teaching careers or experienced professionals looking to contribute to the sector.
About Us
Grwp Llandrillo Menai was established in 2012 as a result of mergers between Coleg Llandrillo, Coleg Menai, and Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor. It employs 2,000 staff and delivers courses to around 21,000 students, including over 1,500 higher education students, across Anglesey, Conwy, Denbighshire, and Gwynedd.
The Grwp aims to support the economy of North Wales by equipping local people with the skills and qualifications needed to ensure the region's competitiveness and success. Its wide range of courses, high-quality learning experiences, excellent facilities, and talented staff all contribute to achieving these goals.
Additional opportunities to study locally for degrees and professional qualifications enable more young people and mature learners to reach their potential. A University Centre at the Rhos-on-Sea Campus provides excellent facilities for the Grwp's higher education students.
Our mission of 'Improving People's Futures' reflects our commitment as a further education organization. While delivering successful qualifications is essential, we also aim to impact social cohesion and economic development positively. We strive to be at the heart of our communities and to be the skills engine driving North Wales' success.
We are seeking to appoint a lecturer to deliver key aspects of both the Health and Social Care and Child Care qualifications, such as safeguarding, child development, principles and values of working in health and social care/child care sectors, health and safety, and professional practice for health and social care workers.
The role offers the opportunity to develop as a lecturer within both departments, under the guidance and support of the programme manager and team leaders. Responsibilities include preparing and delivering taught sessions to learners, along with administration and assessment. We encourage practical and active teaching methodologies to enhance learning. You will be able to apply your knowledge and experience to ensure learners gain an in-depth understanding of the sectors.
The ideal candidate would have previous teaching and industry experience in these sectors. However, we also welcome applications from those looking to begin their teaching careers.
