Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Lecturer in Foundation (Health & Social Care and Workskills)to join the team on a part time (0.6), permanent basis. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £31,930 to £42,454 per annum, pro rata, DOE. (Unqualified teachers £25,297 to £31,930 per annum, pro rata, DOE.)

About The Role

As the Lecturer in Foundation (Health & Social Care and Workskills), you will continually improve the learning experience and achievement of students through effective teaching.

Responsibilities as our Lecturer in Foundation (Health & Social Care and Workskills)will include:

  • Teaching on courses as agreed with the Curriculum Lead.
  • Taking on the responsibilities of a Foundation Personal tutor, when required.
  • Coordinating work skills provision, including arranging and managing student placements.
  • Coordinating and delivering a range of courses including L1 health and social care
  • Preparing and marking student work, monitor progress towards individual targets, keep records and provide timely reports/reviews/EHCP feedback to students, parents, employers and College managers, as appropriate.
  • Working closely with other colleagues to respond to the needs of students.
  • Contributing to the design, delivery and future planning and development of the curriculum.

As our Lecturer in Foundation (Health & Social Care and Workskills), youllideally have:

  • Degree or equivalent professional qualification in relevant subject area.
  • Appropriate teacher training qualification
  • Experience of high quality teaching to both 16-25 year olds and adult students with SEND.
  • Experience of delivery of effective pastoral support and the development of Individual learning plans.
  • Knowledge and understanding of current developments in SEND.
  • Creative, supportive and positive approach to teaching, learning and assessment.
  • The ability to motivate and support students effectively to ensure their success.
