The role

Within our multi-award-winning team at the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, we have a vacancy for a part-time Lecturer in Entrepreneurship.

The Centre is a flagship component of the University of Bristol's strategy to strengthen links between education, research, entrepreneurship, and innovation, leveraging Bristol’s city and region as a unique asset on the international stage.

We seek individuals with practical industry experience who can guide, influence, and inspire future innovators. Candidates may be successful entrepreneurs looking to give back, innovators with a proven track record in successful businesses, or educators with higher education backgrounds seeking an inspiring position.

The aim of our innovation programme is to produce highly-skilled graduates capable of changing the world through new products, innovations, and startups.

What will you be doing?

The role involves supporting the development and delivery of entrepreneurship education and undertaking associated administrative duties. A key focus is developing practical, applied learning approaches utilizing team and project-based studio learning. The post holder will help students develop innovative solutions and enable change, both individually and in groups.

You will teach at various levels, collaborate with academic colleagues on curriculum development, and contribute to evolving our teaching, learning, and assessment strategies.

You will use your knowledge, experience, qualifications, and skills to inspire students and encourage innovative thinking. You will support designing and developing entrepreneurship activities, initiatives, programmes, and courses.

You should apply if

  • You have expertise in areas such as:
  • Start-ups, especially those with a digital footprint
  • Entrepreneurial theory, strategy, and finance
  • Working with organizations to deliver impactful change
  • Experience in relevant commercial/social environments or higher education teaching
  • Knowledge of current trends and issues in entrepreneurship and start-up cultures
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills
  • Ability to contribute to the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship
  • Experience fostering entrepreneurial cultures
