This role operates on a hybrid working arrangement that will require regular travel into our Nottingham campus. This may fluctuate in line with business requirements. Our working model arrangements are a non-contractual benefit so please note that an Arden work location is added to our employment contracts. This role will be based from Nottingham campus with a combination of remote working and face-to-face teaching on campus.
Travel could also be required into the following locations:
- Coventry head office
- Birmingham campus
- Leeds campus
- Manchester campus
- London area (Tower Hill, Holborn & Ealing)

About our Department:
The English Language Hub is seeking a qualified, experienced EAP practitioner, with a proven track record of creating and delivering L2 English provision in HE contexts.
This is an exciting time to join this growing department and be involved in the creation, development and delivery of projects from the outset. As such, we are seeking a passionate, committed Lecturer with a can-do attitude who can use their EAP expertise to support both Arden students and the wider ambitions of the English Language Hub.
About the Opportunity:
EAP Lecturers deliver Academic English support through programmes, courses, modules, optional workshops and one-to-one appointments. This is a new hire for our brand new Nottingham campus.
You will develop and teach EAP/ESAP courses, ensuring high levels of student outcomes. This includes associated operational administration, teaching, curriculum development and quality management.
EAP Lecturers report to Senior EAP Lecturers (within the English Language Hub) and liaise with other departments across the university to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of programmes in accordance with university strategy, policies and procedures.
About You:
To deliver high-quality English for Academic Purposes EAP teaching, support academic success of English as an additional language (EAL) students, and contribute to curriculum development, assessment, and broader academic duties.
- Design and deliver EAP teaching at various academic levels using diverse methods; assess student progress and develop relevant course materials.
- Act as a visible presence on campus, promoting EAP provision and building collaborative relationships across departments.
- Plan, manage, and coordinate personal teaching activities and maintain necessary records.
- Contribute to team decisions and apply creative teaching and assessment strategies.
- Support continuous improvement of EAP modules and participate in course development.
- Engage actively with colleagues in teaching teams and contribute to collaborative academic projects.
- Pursue ongoing training, share best practices, and support Arden’s values and equality commitments.
Essential requirements:
- Master’s in English, Linguistics, TESOL, or Applied Linguistics.
- 4+ years of EAP teaching to diverse L2 learners in HE.
- Curriculum design, blended learning, resource development, teamwork, digital literacy.
- English grammar, second language acquisition, current HE policies relevant to EAP.
Desirable requirements
- CELTA or equivalent
- Additional EFL/EAP certifications
- HE teaching qualification or Advance HE Fellowship (or willingness to obtain within 12 months).
- Experience in supporting a variety of learners and styles to fit all students.
