Job summary

Teesside University seeks a Lecturer in Education (Initial Teacher Training) on a fixed-term basis up to 9 months at 0.8 FTE to support the ITT portfolio. You will work with academics, mentors and partner schools to observe placements, provide feedback and help shape teaching, learning and assessment across our ITT provision.

You will bring a postgraduate education background with QTS/QTLS or equivalent, endure UK policy frameworks, and contribute to school partnerships.

Qualifications

• Qualified at postgraduate level in a secondary education science subject or related discipline.
• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS or equivalent.
• Demonstrable understanding of initial teacher training policies and guidance.
• Experience mentoring and coaching trainees and/or early career teachers.
• Experience observing teaching and learning in schools.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and delivery of expanding ITT portfolio.
• Spend significant time in partner schools observing trainee teachers and providing feedback.
• Contribute to observation of teaching, learning and assessment and quality assurance of ITT provision.
• Collaborate with schools, colleges and industry stakeholders to keep ITT current.
