Job description

Lecturer (Assistant Professor) position in the Department of Economics, delivering undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and contributing to the research environment, starting from 1 September 2025. The Department is looking for some teaching experience and an established or emerging track record of publishing in areas related to business economics or to environmental economics.

The Department of Economics is part of the School of Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (SPPE). The School and the Department have an established reputation for inter-disciplinary research, and members are collaborating with colleagues from schools across the university. You will have:

  1. PhD in Economics or related subject
  2. Publications in the fields of business economics or environmental economics, with evidence of a pipeline that has the potential for regular publication in highly ranked journals
  3. Evidence of ability to teach a variety of topics at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels
  4. Experience in teaching undergraduate modules in microeconomics
