Job summary

Sheffield Hallam University is recruiting a Lecturer in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence to deliver and develop our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in this interdisciplinary field.

You will teach and apply core mathematical, statistical, and computational concepts, contributing to an applied, project-based learning environment and benefiting from facilities such as Azure Lab services, cybersecurity labs and robotics platforms.

Grade 7 - £39,906 to £44,746 per annum (depending on experience)

Here at Sheffield Hallam University we are recruiting for a Lecturer in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence.

At the intersection of computing, mathematics, data analytics, and AI, these disciplines are transforming industries and shaping the future. We are seeking an outstanding individual with the expertise to teach and apply core mathematical, statistical, and computational concepts, and to demonstrate their impact in developing scalable, data-driven, and AI-enabled solutions.

You will contribute to the delivery and development of our innovative undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, helping to equip the next generation of data scientists and AI practitioners.

We’re really proud of our work environment; undergraduates, postgraduates, and research students work together, alongside academic and support staff. The way we teach here is non-traditional, you won’t be handed a menu of content to serve up to the students. Instead, we follow an applied, project-based approach to learning.

You’ll spend most of your classroom time helping students work on their own projects, which are run in the same way as in the IT industry. You and your students will always be connected to what’s going on in the real world.
