College of Business, Tech. & Engineering
£40,704 to £45,641 dependent on experience
We are seeking an outstanding individual who is passionate about their discipline, to make an academic contribution as a Lecturer in the subject area of Cyber Security on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
Having achieved the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) full certification for excellence in Cyber Security for our MSc Cyber Security, your contribution to the more technical areas of teaching will be highly valued. You will bring experience of industry consultancy or knowledge exchange, including supporting businesses towards recognised cyber security certifications such as Cyber Essentials, along with the ability to translate this practical, real-world experience into teaching that reflects current industry expectations.
The range of courses and subjects taught will enable myriad opportunities to grow and develop your portfolio of knowledge in the discipline. You will contribute to the delivery and development of our innovative undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, helping to equip the next generation of Cyber Security practitioners. You will have the opportunity to engage directly with industry through consultancy and knowledge exchange activity, including supporting regional businesses in achieving cyber resilience and capability.
We are very proud of our work environment, undergraduates, postgraduates, and research students work together alongside academic and support staff. The way we teach here is non-traditional, you will not be handed a menu of content to serve up to the students. Instead, we follow an applied, project-based approach to learning.

The University may be able to sponsor the employment of international applicants in this role; this will depend on a number of factors specific to the individual applicant. You are advised to assess your eligibility against the criteria set out in the UKVI Guidance before applying.
